Upbeat Updates - The Early Bird Gets a Great Lesson!

Are your kids finishing their work day before you?

We have a plan for that. Try starting your weekly music lesson (or your second weekly music lesson) earlier in the day. Here’s how:

Ideas for Stress-free Online Music Lessons:

  • Start your lesson earlier in the day to keep kids busy while you're working. Now that your student is comfortable with online lessons, ask your instructor if they can begin before 4pm to help keep them engaged while you're occupied. Some of our students are now even taking 11am Friday lessons!

  • If your student is 8 or older, let them do their lesson independently. It may take a bit of time to get them set up, but giving your child independence benefits them and their teacher in online lessons. (Plus, you get a break!)

  • Add another lesson to the week. This is our biggest secret for success (even before quarantine)! Students who take multiple lessons a week make more progress, adapt quicker and improve their skills at an astonishing rate. Now that your kids have the time, make a great investment in their music know-how.

Never Stop Creating!

Our next venture in creativity comes with a camera. Now more than ever, we want to see each other!

Zoom lessons, Zoom happy hours and even Zoom dinners have taken off. Facebook is filled with Watch Parties, Google Duo has found all our contacts and your kids are probably already Face-Timing their friends.

Next up, music videos! You can get your kiddo to jump on-board, too, with a few easy pointers:

InShot

  • Capture a short clip of their performance or have your MW instructor do it for you! (You can record Zoom meetings or set up Screen Recording on your phone or tablet before the lesson begins to make it really easy.)

  • Download a free video enhancing program. We are loving InShot.

  • Let your student have some fun! (Allow your child to be creative with titles, emoji stickers and more to create a video they are proud of or find hilarious.)

  • Share it! (Post your video to our Facebook Student Song Share or send it to your teacher.)

Projects, year end performances and contests are right around the corner!
